You are so right - and changeverthing.ca would be the perfect place to put a spotlight on these ultra local initiatives. I was really amazed by the awesome small scale work going on.

When we send out the follow-up email to build our list serv - shall I put in a call out for stories, to be sent to you and/or Kate?

Hi Jeremy. It was a great event, and the discussions were fascinating. Thanks for all your hard work putting it together.

One big takeaway for me, was that there are a while lot of really progressive interesting projects going on, but they are so hyperlocal, sometimes down to an intersection or a single address, that people don't know about them. Would be good to get a spotlight going.

I came away with a sense that a site like ChangeEverything.ca could be a repository to open source all those incredible underground community projects that could serve as models for others.

I would say you arrived. For sure.

I had a similar time, also in about 2003. I was living in LA, having a good time, but feeling like my life there was never going to feel real or permanent.

Amy and I realized it was time to come home and have a life where simply by telling people where we worked or lived or other details of our lives we would actually be making a statement about our values. We wanted full alignment. My job at Vancity, our living in a housing co-op, our upcoming move to Strathcona, my walking to work, our driving a Prius, all of these things are manifestations of that goal.

Feels good, doesn't it?
